William Brooks Beckum
Birmingham Employment Law Attorney
Will Beckum was born in Augusta, Georgia. Prior to moving to Birmingham,
Alabama, he lived and worked in both Atlanta, Georgia and St. Louis, Missouri.
He holds an engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology (“Georgia
Tech”) and is a graduate with honors of Washington University School
of Law in St. Louis.
While attending Washington University in St. Louis, Mr. Beckum was a member
and editor of the Washington University Law Review. He also served as
a judicial intern to the Honorable Michael J. Reagan in the United States
District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
Mr. Beckum has over ten years of legal experience handling complex and
often high stakes litigation throughout State and Federal courts in Alabama,
Missouri and Illinois. Prior to becoming an attorney, he worked as a consulting
engineer gaining vital experience across industries ranging from manufacturing

construction disputes and
employment law matters. His background as an engineer provides unique insight into the
often complicated and highly technical issues in construction defect cases.
He also takes significant pride in being an advocate for individuals who
have suffered unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation in the
Mr. Beckum resides in Birmingham with his wife, Katie, and their two daughters.
Outside of the firm, he enjoys spending time with his family and is an
active parishioner of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
